CORPORATIONS AND FOUNDATIONS
Corporations and foundations are essential catalysts for the work of the Hill House. These partners make strategic grants, forge partnerships, and share vital expertise. Consider how a partnership with the Hill House could advance your mission.

Community Development

The Hill House benefits from corporate and foundation partnerships in its effort to help revitalize the Hill District, one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods. BNY Mellon recently contributed $3 million over a six-year period to the Hill District community through the Pennsylvania Neighborhood Partnership Program (NPP), which is coordinated by the Hill House Association. Support for the NPP was one of the negotiated outcomes of the One Hill Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) signed on August 19, 2008 to ensure that Hill residents would realize positive outcomes from the development of a new hockey arena in their neighborhood. The CBA was signed by the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, the Sports and Exhibition Authority (SEA), and the Pittsburgh Penguins. If your organization would like to be part of this historic effort and have long-term impact on the Hill District, please call Terri Baltimore, the Hill House’s vice president of neighborhood development, at 412-392-4463.

The Arts

Through its Neighborhood Development Programs, the Hill House brings people together to voice opinions, share ideas, build consensus, and heal community problems. Often, arts and cultural programs provide the forum for community involvement and for people to experience a sense of ownership and belonging. The Heinz Endowments recently supported the second season of Hill House’s “Live at the Hurricane,” a jazz concert series that replicated the setting of the Hill District’s legendary jazz club from the Hill District’s heyday. If you would like to sponsor or support an arts program at the Hill House, please call Terri Baltimore, the Hill House’s vice president of neighborhood development, at 412-392-4463.

Supporting Youth

The Hill House recently launched the Kassi Leadership Academy. Kassi is the word for thread or twine in Swahili. As a quilt is only as strong and lasting as its individual threads, a child is only as strong and successful as the individuals who touch his life. The Kassi Leadership Academy offers kids opportunities and incentives for being leaders in their schools and communities and provides an umbrella curriculum over all of the Hill House’s youth programs serving kids from 6 months to 18 years old. This inventive program was made possible with the generous support of The Heinz Endowments, the Grable Foundation, and the Pittsburgh Foundation. If you would like to support one of the Hill House’s inventive youth programs, please contact Tony Bell, Chief Program Officer, at 412-392-4455.
