GED/ABE Preparation

What is it?

A preparatory class that provides participants with intensive academic skills development and tutoring to help particpants pass the GED or SAT for secondary education or employment

Who can participate?

Independent Living, Non-Custodial Employment Program and Out-of-School Youth participants.

What services are provided?

  • Adult basic education assessment
  • GED prep and testing
  • Referral assistance or post-secondary education/training

What does it cost?

Free to program participants

What’s the schedule?

Schedule varies.

 

What’s needed to get started?

Must be enrolled in Out-of-School Youth (city or county), Non-Custodial Parents Program (Young Fathers) or Independent Living Program.  For the Out-of-School (OSY) Youth participants, you also need to provide proof of income and authorization by the City of Pittsburgh for the OSY program components.
