April Wheeler
Family and Workforce Development

April Wheeler

“I was 19 years old, a high school dropout, newly divorced, and mother of two.”

I had no way of supporting my family. I knew the first step was a GED. But I was afraid to fail. I went to the Hill House’s Family & Workforce program. They encouraged me and taught me the skills I needed to succeed. I passed the GED. Now, I’m on to other tests. I’ve completed my Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and plan to attend Carlow University this year for my Bachelor’s Degree.
