Hill House has a wide range of volunteer opportunities available, providing a variety of options to get involved through different levels of commitment.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT VOLUNTEERS
Community Engagement Volunteers are needed to offer their expertise to the community at large through the development of a program or event. Examples could include healthy cooking demonstrations geared toward Hill District residents, employer expectation workshops designed to teach participants in our afterschool and workforce development programs appropriate workplace behavior, or even recreational programs offered to teach special skills to youth or senior programs such as photography or web design. Community Engagement Volunteers could also work with children in the Early Learning Center to help prepare nutritious snacks and meals and teach them about how to identify healthy options. The type of activity, program or event will dictate the level of commitment needed from each volunteer.
VOLUNTEER GROUPS
Hill House has hosted volunteer days for organizations and corporations wishing to give back ot the community. In the past, we have worked with the University of Pittsburgh, PNC Bank, Massaro Corporation, Duquesne University, and Carnegie Mellon University. Opportunities range from clean up days to hosting a career panel for our afterschool program. If your group is looking to give back in a different way, we welcome new volunteer project ideas.
